May 2013 shows and events
at the Moose Jaw Cultural Centre

The following shows and events are scheduled for May 2013 in the Mae Wilson Theatre at the Moose Jaw Cultural Centre:

The Moose Jaw Cultural Centre presents Tenore: May 3 at 8 p.m. Three male tenors sing hymns and songs of inspiration. Tickets are $22 at the Cultural Centre box office or online at http://www.moosejawculture.com/events.htm (there is an extra charge for ordering tickets online).

The Moose Jaw Cultural Centre presents The Trudel Family: May 4 at 7 p.m. The award-winning family group of musicians and singers from Honeymoon, Sask., perform bluegrass-gospel music. “A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Story”: May 6 at 8 p.m. Canadian Volunteer Fire Services presents this tribute to Neil Diamond starring Mark Thomas. Tickets are $30 at the Cultural Centre box office or online at http://www.benefitshowtickets.com

The Moose Jaw Cultural Centre presents Singin’, Pickin’, & Grinnin’ with Freddie and Sheila Pelletier and special guests Clint Pelletier and Thea Neumann: May 10 at 7 p.m. Singin’, Pickin’ & Grinnin’ becomes a family affair when hosts Freddie and Sheila Pelletier are joined by Freddie’s son Clint and Clint’s fiancĂ©e, Thea Neumann. It’s a night of country, folk, roots, traditional and bluegrass music that’s not to be missed. 64th Annual Moose Jaw Band & Choral Festival: May 13 to 16
Junior high and high school bands from Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Alberta perform in the Mae Wilson Theatre. May 13: 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 14-16: 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The performances are open to the public and admission is free.
Night shows – open to the public
Chicks with Sticks: May 13 at 7 p.m. A trio of female woodwood musicians from Saskatchewan.
Steve Palmer: May 14 at 6 and 8 p.m. A singer and guitarist from Moose Jaw.
Arlene Shiplett’s Horn Choir: May 15 at 6 and 8 p.m. Arlene Shiplett, the brass instructor for the Saskatoon Youth Orchestra, presents an ensemble of her students.
Tickets for the night shows are $5 each at the Cultural Centre box office.

Doris Sitter School of Dance presents “Every Child A Star”: May 17 at 7:30 p.m. and May 18 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The Moose Jaw dance school presents its annual recitals. Tickets are $18 for adults and $13 for children 12 and under at the Cultural Centre box office.

Koba Entertainment presents Strawberry Shortcake: Follow Your Berry Own Beat: May 22 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $24.50 at the Cultural Centre box office or online at http://www.moosejawculture.com/events.htm (there is an extra charge for ordering tickets online).
